Step #1

• Prior to changing the MX records for your domain ensure you have listed all your email addresses with MX Guarddog. You must define all email addresses at your domain, regardless of type. Messages sent to unknown users are returned to sender, do not leave any valid addresses out.
• Login to your Cloudflare Control Panel.

Step #2

• Click Records under DNS from the menu bar.

Step #3

• Your domain probably has MX records setup already, you can click Edit one of your existing MX records to replace them with our MX servers.

Step #4

• Use the following values to edit your existing record:

  1. Type: MX
  2. Name: @
  3. Mail server: see MX records page for your server name
  4. Priority: see MX records page for your priority levels

  

Step #5

• After editing your existing MX records, save your changes. Edit only the MX records, no other changes are required.

Setup Complete

Changes to your MX records may take 24 - 48 hours before all servers on the Internet see the updates, your spam levels will slowly decrease during this time. If you continue to receive high volumes of spam email after 48 hours, please contact us for assistance.You should not experience any errors after making these changes, if your email starts to have problems an error has been made which you will need to investigate or rollback the changes made.
